Preparing the same snacks time and again is boring for your tastebuds and takes the fun out of cooking. The following original ideas will allow you to experiment with new flavors and combinations. You may find you’re missing some of the ingredients, so make sure you add everything you’ll need to your grocery list.

Quinoa Fruit Salad

Prepare a cup of your favorite quinoa and wait until it has cooled to room temperature. Add fruit, such as blackberries, blueberries, peach, kiwi, strawberry, mango, raspberry, pineapple, or grapes. Complete the dish with a dressing made from the juice of one large lime, three tablespoons of honey, and two tablespoons of chopped mint.

Figs with Blue Cheese and Honey

Cut a few fresh figs in half and place them on a baking sheet, cut side facing up. After broiling for two minutes, top with a little blue cheese and drizzle with honey.

Apple Stacks

Cut an apple into around four to six slices. On each slice but one, spread a thin layer of peanut butter and top with granola. Sandwich the slices together to create a stack.

Brandy-Flamed Bananas

Fry a sliced banana in a pan with a little butter. When both sides are golden, hold the pan away from you at a safe distance and add a shot of brandy. Once the alcohol has burned off, the flame will die away. Serve the banana with a generous helping of condensed milk.

Peaches on Toast

Instead of using peach jelly on your toast, use fresh fruit. You can also add a layer of almond butter beneath the fruit for a delicious flavor.

Cottage Cheese and Berries

This dish requires almost no effort. Simply top a bowl of cottage cheese with fresh or dried berries and a tablespoon of linseed.

Roast Beef and Pear

Combine one tablespoon of sour cream with one teaspoon of horseradish. Spread over a halved pear and top with a couple slices of roast beef and a sprig of parsley.

Cinnamon Toast

Mix two parts brown sugar with one part cinnamon and sprinkle over hot buttered toast. You can store the topping in a mason jar, ready to prepare a quick snack whenever you need it.

These snacks are ideal for any time of the day or even to share with friends at a get-together. Create your grocery list in advance to ensure you have everything you’ll need to whip up a snack in just a few minutes.
